Welcome to Littlefield Township! Littlefield Township is located 20 minutes from Petoskey and Harbor Springs in Emmet County, Michigan. It borders Crooked Lake and Pickerel Lake, two lakes of the Inland Waterway located in Emmet and Cheboygan Counties.  The Inland Waterway contains 40 miles of navigable waters that eventually lead to Lake Huron.

Littlefield Township contains three unique communities.  The incorporated Village of Alanson, the unincorporated Village of Oden and the community of Ponshewaing.  It contains approximately 21 square miles and as of the 2020 Census, it had a population of 3,200.

Littlefield Township is a General Law Township formed in 1877.

The Treasurer will host office hours on 2/16/2026 and 3/2/2026 from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. to accept on-site tax payments.
